Marrakech to Fez via Desert in 5 Days
Day 1: Marrakech-Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Ouarzazate.
We will pick you up from your Riad/hotel in Marrakech at 8:00 a.m, before travelling over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) while enjoying superb views of the mountains and of the Berber Villages on the way. We will stop for lunch and tour the World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou – this famous kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films. We will pass through Ouarzazate and continue towards the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley. We will visit Skoura Oasis with its authentic 17 century Kasbah in The Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. We will spend the night in a hotel in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Gorges.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart from Ouarzazate towards Skoura where we’ll stop to visit the Amredhyle Kasbah, one of the wonders of the southern “Route of A Thousand Kasbahs”. Continuing our trip through the Valley of Roses, we will drive 30 km off-road on valley tracks to visit and have tea with Nomads who live in the area. After that we will reach Ait Youl Kasbah and have lunch at the Dades Gorge. We will enjoy an afternoon free wandering in the Dades Valley and spend the night there.
After lunch in the gorge, we will drive further into the desert to Merzouga, where we will stop near the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here we will take a camel ride to our Bivouac Tent.
Day 3: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga.
After breakfast, we will depart to the Todra Gorge: a massive fault, rising to 300m in a narrow valley thick-studded with palmeries and Berber Villages. After lunch in the gorge, we will drive further into the desert to Merzouga, where we will stop near the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. From here, we will take a camel ride (about one hour and a half) in order to get to your Bivouac Tent. We will spend the evening in a bivouac camp, enjoying a Berber dinner and sleeping in a traditional Nomad camel hair tent.
After our camel ride, we will spend the evening at a Bivouac camp, enjoying traditional music and a Berber dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Merzouga.
Wake up to a spectacular sunrise in the desert and enjoy breakfast before we return by camel to the hotel for a shower. We will make a circuit of the desert dunes where you will have the opportunity to see the amazing changing contrasts of the desert. We will visit the ‘black village’ of Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians before having a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the ancient capital of Rissani. After lunch, we will go back to Merzouga where you will check into your hotel and relax overnight.
Day 5: Merzouga – Medilt- Azrou- Fes.
After breakfast, we will leave Merzouga to Fez via Azrou. On the way we will pass through Erfoud, Errachidia, and Medilt. We will stop for lunch in Medilt and see the wild monkeys in the cedar forests of Azrou. We will continue to Fez and arrive in the early evening.
